Tupac says, “And even as a crack fiend mama, ya always was a black queen, mama”. He was relaying a message of many children that are suffering from this same situation he struggled through as a kid. Tupac isn’t only focusing on the things he did wrong, although that was his main focus. In this song Tupac talks about how his mother managed to raise him regardless of the struggles they endured.Ī good Example of the way Tupac Expresses these feelings comes from the middle of the song: Tupac wrote the song “Dear Mama” to express the amount of appreciation he had for his mother, as well as his childhood struggles he and his family experienced growing up in a poor area with only one parent in the household. One of the songs on Tupac’s album Me Against the World is called “Dear Mama”. I intend to show the contrast in Tupac’s lyrics from one album to another. Tupac passed away a little over two years ago leaving behind many examples of his lyrical diversity. Tupac Amaru Shakur, also know as 2pac, has appeared in various movies and has written many poems, but his legacy will forever remain in his music.
